Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 6 -- Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, met with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and Irish Prime Minister Martin in Beijing on the morning of the 6th.

During his meeting with Lee Jae-myung, Zhao Leji stated that friendly cooperation has been the distinct feature of China-South Korea relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries over 30 years ago. China is willing to work with the ROK to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen good-neighborly friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, consolidate the public support, and promote the China-ROK strategic cooperative partnership to move steadily and achieve long-term success. The National People's Congress of China is willing to maintain the good momentum of high-level exchanges with the National Assembly of the ROK, strengthen communication and cooperation at multiple levels and in various fields, and provide legal guarantee for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
The ROK side is willing to deepen cooperation with China in various fields such as economy and culture, strengthen exchanges between legislative bodies and political parties, enhance people-to-people exchanges, and promote the development of bilateral relations.

During his meeting with Martin, Zhao Leji stated that China and Ireland have enjoyed a traditional friendship. Over the past 40-plus years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, they have always respected each other and treated each other equally, leading to the steady development of bilateral relations. China is willing to work with Ireland to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, enhance mutual understanding and trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote greater development of the China-Ireland reciprocal strategic partnership. The National People's Congress of China is willing to strengthen communication and exchanges with the Irish Parliament, deepen the exchange and mutual learning of legislation, supervision, and governance experience, and facilitate pragmatic cooperation between the two countries.
Martin said that China's development is an admirable success story. Estonia adheres to the one-China policy and is willing to deepen exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields, strengthen exchanges between legislative bodies, and promote more achievements in bilateral cooperation in the spirit of mutual respect.
