The closing reception for the series of activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal was held in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, December 28 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Embassy in Nepal held a closing reception for the series of activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal, as well as the "Entering Chinese Civilization: Cultural Exchange Activities between China and Nepal," in Kathmandu on the 27th. Indira Rana, Deputy Speaker of the Nepalese House of Representatives, Zhou Pan, Acting Charg é d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, and approximately 800 guests from China and Nepal attended the event.


Rana said in his speech that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 70 years ago, the relationship between Nepal and China has continued to develop. As a friendly neighbor and strategic partner of China, Nepal's relationship with China is becoming increasingly close. Thank you to the Chinese government and people for their continuous support and goodwill. Let us continue to build a friendly relationship between the two peoples, not only at the government level but also at the civilian level


In his speech, Zhou Pan said that this year, high-level exchanges between the two countries have maintained a good momentum, political mutual trust has been further consolidated, practical economic and trade cooperation has yielded fruitful results, and cultural exchanges have become increasingly close. China and Nepal have demonstrated through practical actions that no matter how the international situation changes, the two countries will always be close neighbors. China is willing to deepen exchanges in governance and administration with Nepal, and jointly promote practical cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, connectivity, agriculture, poverty reduction, and youth development, so that the fruits of friendly cooperation can benefit the people of both countries.


This activity was also the first day of the three-day "Entering Chinese Civilization: Sino Nepal Cultural Exchange Activity" held by World Knowledge Press. Chinese actors from China performed wonderful Tang dance, Qin Opera, drum music and other programs. At the event site, there are also displays of traditional Chinese handicrafts and immersive virtual reality experiences, allowing visitors to experience the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture.


To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Nepal have held a variety of exciting activities this year, including film days, photo exhibitions, cultural weeks, and Chinese workshops.
