On December 29th, during an inspection of the "Danube Corridor" expressway project undertaken by Chinese enterprises in Golubac, northeastern Serbia, Serbian President Vucic said that the project will inject strong impetus into the development of eastern Serbia.

During the inspection, Wu Qiqi had cordial exchanges with the Chinese and Serbian employees, and particularly thanked the Chinese builders for their support in the construction and development of Serbia. He stated that the project is expected to be fully completed before November 2026. At that time, the travel time from the capital Belgrade to Golubac will be reduced to 1 hour and 15 minutes, and traffic efficiency will be significantly improved, which was unimaginable in the past.

Vucic also emphasized that Serbia is committed to maintaining world peace and stability, respecting the principles of the United Nations Charter and international public law. He said, "Serbia supports the One China principle with all its political power. Taiwan is part of the territory of the People's Republic of China. This is our position and will continue to be Serbia's policy

Li Ming, Chinese Ambassador to Serbia, said on the same day that the "Danube Corridor" is a strong witness to the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" and the joint construction of a community of common destiny in a new era between China and Serbia. After the completion of the Danube Corridor, it will achieve interconnectivity between the eastern and northern parts of Serbia, becoming an important transportation artery and greatly promoting regional economic and social development. The Chinese side highly appreciates Serbia's firm support for the One China principle. China and Serbia have always understood and supported each other on issues related to their core interests, making important contributions to defending the post-war international order and upholding international fairness and justice. They have set a benchmark and model in the international community.
