On December 18th, the 62 kilometer section from Wulong to Pengshui and from Wulong to Daozhen (Chongqing section) of the Chongqing Hunan Expressway were officially opened for operation. At this point, the Chongqing Hunan double track expressway has been fully opened to traffic, and the eastern hub of the Western Land Sea New Corridor has been formed.

This transportation artery with a total investment of 64 billion yuan and a total mileage of 280 kilometers passes through the Wuling Mountain area with an average altitude of 800 meters. The bridge tunnel ratio is as high as 80%, and its investment scale and comprehensive technical difficulty are both the highest in the history of Chongqing expressway.

After the full line is completed, this transportation artery connects the central urban area of Chongqing at one end and Hunan and Guizhou at the other end. It not only forms a linkage with the synchronously built Guizhou section, weaving a "1-hour transportation circle" between Chongqing and Guizhou, but also builds a bridge connecting the inside and outside in the hinterland of Wuling Mountain area.

The benefits brought by the opening of the road are immediate. The drive from the central urban area of Chongqing to Youyang is about 60 minutes shorter than the existing expressway; The sea departure distance to Beibu Gulf Port in Guangxi is directly reduced by 70 kilometers. According to calculations, relying on this new channel, logistics transportation can achieve a delivery time of "1 day to sea and 3 days to ASEAN", significantly reducing transportation costs for enterprises along the route.

Five years of overcoming difficulties and turning natural obstacles into smooth paths.
