Not long ago, a China Europe freight train loaded with 55 containers set off from the Erenhot railway port and headed towards Russia, marking a breakthrough of 3500 trains in the channel traffic volume of China Europe freight trains this year. This is also the first time since the opening of the China Europe freight train at the Erenhot railway port in 2013 that the number of trains has exceeded 3500, setting a new historical high.

According to the statistics of Hohhot Customs, in the first 11 months of this year, the import and export of China Europe freight trains through the Erenhot Port under customs supervision increased by 16.7% year-on-year; The freight volume increased by 24.3% year-on-year, and both the freight volume and the number of trains reached a new historical high for the same period.

At present, the number of operating routes of the China Europe freight train 'Middle Passage' has reached 74, an increase of 3 compared to 2024. The radiation range of the train has extended to more than 10 countries and more than 140 domestic and foreign city stations, with goods covering more than 10000 types of vehicles and accessories, mechanical and electrical equipment, furniture, building materials, etc. Among them, the proportion of high value-added goods such as domestic cars, mechanical equipment, electronic appliances, etc. has increased to more than 40%, "said Ye Shuai, Deputy Director of the Railway Supervision Department of Erlian Customs under Hohhot Customs.

It is reported that with the continuous growth of cross-border transportation demand, the direction, quantity, and types of goods of the China Europe freight trains at the Erenhot Railway Port have shown a continuous growth trend. It has exceeded 3000 trains for three consecutive years, and the cumulative number of China Europe freight trains has exceeded 21000.

While the number of China Europe freight trains entering and leaving the Erenhot railway port continues to increase, the customs department has also improved the operation speed of China Europe freight trains through customs clearance reforms.

It is reported that in terms of customs clearance service guarantee, Hohhot Customs relies on smart supervision equipment to ensure that the goods on the train are "delivered, inspected, and released at any time", comprehensively improving customs clearance efficiency. Ye Shuai introduced that currently, the Erlian Customs under Hohhot Customs has a daily supervision of 13 inbound and outbound China Europe freight trains.

While continuously expanding the advantages of the China Europe freight train channel, Inner Mongolia is also promoting the construction of regional hub nodes for the China Europe freight train. "Duan Junfang, the head of the Inspection Department of Jining Customs under Hohhot Customs, introduced that taking Ulanqab as an example, the city has cultivated 28 China Europe (Asia) freight train lines, covering the central and western parts of Inner Mongolia, Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Pearl River Delta and other regions, connecting 10 countries including Russia, Belarus, Germany, etc., forming a stable international logistics channel facing China Europe and Central Asian countries, and has initially become an important hub node on the" middle channel "of the China Europe freight train.
