Dakar, December 24th (Xinhua) -- The 50th anniversary commemorative photo exhibition of China's medical team dispatched to Senegal kicked off on the 23rd in the capital city of Senegal, Dakar. The 30 exhibited photos vividly capture the moments when the Chinese medical team rooted themselves in the local area, provided medical assistance, and protected the health of the people.

In his speech, Ibrahima Xi, the Minister of Health and Public Health of Senegal, stated that the continuous deepening of medical cooperation between China and Senegal has not only provided a large number of high-quality medical services to the Senegalese people, but also played a key role in hospital construction, medical technology upgrading, and medical personnel training. Especially in remote areas where medical resources are relatively scarce, China's assistance has effectively improved local public health conditions and promoted the structural leap of Senegal's medical system. This cooperation centered on people's health demonstrates the spirit of long-term pragmatic partnership.

Chinese Ambassador to Senegal Li Zhigang stated that in the past 50 years, China Senegal medical cooperation has broken through the initial single medical assistance model and expanded into a comprehensive cooperation system covering hospital construction, targeted cooperation, medical training, and public health projects. This cooperation process spanning half a century has not only effectively improved the health level of the Senegalese people, but also built a foundation of trust and friendship in the hearts of the two peoples. This photo exhibition uses images as a carrier to record this ongoing collaboration story.

Since 1975, Fujian Province of China has been sending foreign medical aid teams to Senegal. Over the past 50 years, Fujian has sent 20 batches of medical teams to Senegal.
