On November 24th, the "Silk Road Ports: Green and Smart Construction" advanced training course, guided by the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, supported by the Beijing Chenjiang Public Welfare Foundation, and organized by Huaqiao University, opened in Xiamen, Fujian. 30 high-level officials, experts, and scholars from eight countries including Bangladesh, Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, and Saudi Arabia will participate in the one week training activity. Xu Xipeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huaqiao University, Ni Jie, District Mayor of Jimei District, Xiamen City, Wu Wei, Secretary General of Beijing Chenjiang and Public Welfare Foundation, and Wu Hongliang, Director of the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Xu Xipeng stated that the training course is themed "Silk Road Ports: Green and Smart Construction", focusing on the common concerns of the times and the international community for sustainable development and innovation driven development. We look forward to the students being able to apply what they have learned and integrate it through learning and communication, and jointly explore new paths to promote innovative development in the construction of Silk Road ports.

Ni Jie said that as an important part of Xiamen International Hub Port, Jimei District has built an international cooperation system of "central leadership, platform support and global response", established Jimei International Cooperation Center, created a "1+N" global response mechanism, linked more than 190 global quality service institutions, and provided services to 39 countries and regions, providing support and services for Chinese and other countries' enterprises to participate in the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road". I hope to build an open and shared global cooperation platform with global partners through this training course, and actively promote the green and intelligent upgrading of "Silk Road ports".

Wu Wei stated that the founder of the foundation, Chen Jianghe, has always attached great importance to the crucial role of talent in promoting regional cooperation. As an important hub for global trade and industrial connectivity, ports' green transformation and intelligent upgrading are directly related to efficient resource utilization and sustainable development, which is of great practical significance. We look forward to the trainees promoting communication and applying what they have learned through this training course, and building a bridge for long-term cooperation in the future.

Wu Hongliang said that in the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", the port has become a trade accelerator to shorten time and space, a modern benchmark of green wisdom, and a cooperation platform to share development achievements, which vividly explains the comprehensive value of the "the Belt and Road" port cooperation for the joint construction of a country. Looking ahead to the next step of cooperation, he suggested: firstly, to adhere to interconnectivity, further leverage the radiation and driving role of ports in the development of industries in various countries, and achieve common development; Secondly, we must adhere to innovation driven approach, accelerate the application of cutting-edge technologies in ports, and stimulate development momentum; Thirdly, we must adhere to collaborative cooperation, making port cooperation projects not only serve as logistics channels, but also become a model for building a community with a shared future for mankind; The fourth is to adhere to the orientation of people's livelihood, combine infrastructure development, industrial development, and social undertakings, and benefit the people of all countries.

It is reported that this advanced seminar focuses on the theme of green and intelligent development of ports, sets up special lectures, round table discussions and other links, introduces the theory and achievements of high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", shares China's experience and practices in port planning and construction, operation management, intelligent upgrading and port economic development, builds an international exchange and cooperation platform in port construction and port economy, and helps infrastructure "hard connectivity", rules and standards "soft connectivity" and jointly build a "heart to heart connectivity" for the people of the country.
